Rebel Rouser’s Car Club was started by Paul (Shorty) Bedics around 1993 in order to help kids. One child needed medicine and the insurance ran out so the club paid for it until he was called to heaven. A little girl needed a wheelchair. Her mom worked two jobs, making too much money to qualify to get the wheelchair, but Shorty and Wilma got together so Megan could get it. Another child, at age 13 or 14, was told he had cancer and his chances were not very good. We raised $2,500.00 for that family at a Friday night cruise-in. Since then we have become incorporated and we have our application sent to the state of Indiana. We plan to raffle off a 1963 Chevy Impala at our November 6 car show at the Logansport Mall, Logansport, Indiana, with part of the proceeds going to the Shriner’s to help more kids, and also to the Cops-4-Kids that we have helped for the last five years. Our members are from all over Indiana, from the Valparaiso area and the Mentone area, to Kokomo and Wabash and the Lagro area. We have a Cruise-In on May 30, at the new Harvey Hinklemeyer’s Restaurant in Kokomo. On Aug. 27 we will have one at Kouts, Indiana, for the Pork Festival.
