Kevin Mullins. The car is a 1971 SS Chevelle. The car was purchased in 1970 by my father Gayle Mullins. I was given the car from him 3 years ago. He had promissed it to me when I turned sixteen, but held it till I turned 30. Good move on his part, I deffinately appreciate it more now. The car was painted in 1981, yes that is right 25 year old paint. The car has been sitting in a climate controlled garage since 1990. I have been getting it road worthy for the last three years. This was the first year out on the road since 1990. When he gave the car to me I removed the sidepipes, suspension, and wheels. I added coilovers to it ,four wheel disk brakes, and a new set of wheels and tires. The engine is out of my rear engine dragster I sold to finish this car. The engine is a 468 Big Block Chevy 13:1 Compression. Everything else is exactly the way it was built in 1981. The car was featured on the cover of Car Craft magazine in December of 1983.
